This is done! Added in version 4, you can put files side-by-side on the timeline and cut them all at once.

👋 Hi Recut Team - Pedro García Dave Ceddia
Any movement on this topic regarding adding multiple videos on a horizontal timeline?
Recut is rough to work with without this basic feature being implemented.

Hero I knoww 😭 I really want to get this one finished, it has taken way too long. I've made some progress on it, but I think I'm getting wrapped around the axle trying to fold too many features in at once. This one, the Video Snapping one, and the Manual Cuts one are all sorta intertwined as far as the implementation goes. All of them require the same big change to how the timeline currently works, because as soon as things can be side-by-side it basically requires the ability to re-order them etc. and it quickly turns into a full-blown NLE timeline. Anyway, without getting too far into the weeds - I haven't forgotten about this and I'm actively chipping away on it!

👋 Hi Recut Team - Happy New Year! 🥳
Heeelp...hahaa. Hoping to revive this 1+ year old thread. ❤️ Recut is awesome and could definitely use the feature of a "Drag & Drop Horizontal Timeline" for multiple video clips.
CONTEXT
For every 5-10min video I create, I have about 20+ super short video clips to work with. It would speed up my workflow to be able to simply drag & drop all video clips on the timeline at the same time (in sequential order) in a horizontal format.
MY CURRENT NON-IDEAL WORKAROUNDS
1. First workaround is adding all video clips to a video editing platform (e.g., DaVinci Resolve, Premier, Final Cut, etc.), bouncing the video clips into a single video, then dropping the single merged video into Recut to remove silences, and then import the chopped up Recut Timeline back into a video editing platform. WORKAROUND ISSUE: Time consuming and losing some video/audio quality by exporting the same video twice from DaVinci Resolve.
2. Second workaround is adding all video clips vertically in stair step pattern (see attached screenshot). WORKAROUND ISSUE: Super & Duper time consuming, no feature for snapping video clips to the end of the last video on the timeline.
Looking forward to your response and praying 🙏🏾 these features get added to Recut.

I need that too!
Garage Fab
I’m a big fan of this idea. My personal use case would be: As I’m filming a talking head video, planes often fly by my garage so I stop recording. This creates several clips.
This feature would allow me to load all the clips at once and export as one large clip.
Life Is
Now that sounds great! It would be nice to cut a bunch of clips and then import into FCPX

Life Is: Are you thinking you'd have 1 timeline with a bunch of videos in it, and import 1 timeline into FCPX? Or an alternative might be, 1 timeline in Recut with multiple videos, but turns into multiple FCPX imports, like a batch editing mode?
Life Is
Dave Ceddia: I was thinking multiple video clips in Recut and have 1 import file into FCPX. To be honest your app is already everything I need but I like this idea you have of continuing to improve a great app.

Life Is: Gotcha, thank you!
